New addition: the Galactica catamaran

Post Workboats has added a new vessel to its fleet: the Galactica catamaran. Built in the Netherlands in 2023, the vessel is suited to worldwide deployment and classified MCA Cat 3 up to 20 miles.
Propulsion and handling
The Galactica runs on 2 x Yamaha F300 main engines with Yamaha Helm Master, autopilot and dynamic positioning. That lets the vessel hold station during survey, diving and cable work, even with current and swell.
The hull is GRP with a net tonnage of 5 tonnes. Top speed is 43 knots and cruising speed 25 knots. A 600 litre tank gives a generous range per working day.
Mobile by design
At 10.20 metres long and 3.70 metres wide the Galactica is road transportable. Four 2-tonne lifting eyes allow the vessel to be craned quickly: onto a mother vessel, a quayside or a pontoon.
That fits the way Post Workboats works: the vessel travels to the job, not the other way round. Mobilisation by road or in a container means a project in the Netherlands, across Europe or beyond can be operational within a short time.
Where we deploy the Galactica
The stable catamaran platform is comfortable to work from during survey and measurement work, dive support, crew transfers and film work where cameras need a steady base. The extra deck space carries equipment, frames and personal gear.
